The Thoughts of Others
Anyone who knows me can tell you I love to talk about the books I am reading. I like to share my views on what I’m reading, especially if they author provides insights into think I find interesting or others might find useful.
Over many years, the books that I purchased accumulated in my office at work and in my home. They formed a repository for me and for others (especially students) with whom I might share. Recently, however, with the proliferation of e-books, I seldom read paper books. When I purchase books (a bit less often, now, with the availability of many things I read in electronic format from my library), they rest on my varied devices, available for me to pick up but not nearly as visible to others as are the books in my office library or on the shelves in my home. This represents a bit of a loss, actually. Although I now prefer to read on my IPad or Kobo, without a paper copy at hand, it is more difficult for me to share what I’ve read with others.
With this in mind, I thought I might use this page as a kind of virtual bookshelf, where I might record the books I’m reading or have read and, when time allows, to offer views on the book.
